McDermitt's Northrup selected as Division IV East Player of the Year

McDermitt's Northrup selected as Division IV East Player of the Year

McDermitt High School's Lydia Northrup was honored as the Division IV East Player of the Year, as selected by the league's six coaches.

Northrup averaged 15 points and 3.8 assists, 2.0 rebounds in her junior season with the Lady Bulldogs. McDermitt reached the Division IV Regional Tournament, but lost to Smith Valley in the first round.

Wells' Enoch Dahl was named the Coach of the Year and Jackpot claimed the Sportsmanship award.

Wells' Rachel Johnny and Cody Gibbs joined Northrup on the first team as did Eureka's Shara Green and Owyhee's Dayani Manning.

The Lady Bulldogs' Deandra Dave was chosen to the second team, after putting up 9.0 points and 8.3 rebounds a game. She was joined on the second team by Owyhee's Kaylani Smartt and Kiara Egan, Carlin's Mariah Meshefski and Eureka's Megan Damele.

McDermitt's Krissy Long was named to the honorable mention team. She averaged a double-double with 11.5 points and 11.7 rebounds a game. The team was rounded out with Eureka's Angela Porter and Beth Damele, Wells' Sammy Stumpf and Owyhee's Darcy Egan.[[In-content Ad]]
