The McDermitt Junior High School seventh-grade girls basketball team made the trip south down U.S. 95 on Saturday to Winnemucca for the third round of Tri-County League play. The Cougars picked up easy wins over Battle Mountain and Pershing County but were defeated by Winnemucca. McDermitt travels to Lovelock on Saturday for the Tri-County championship, where it will play Pershing County in one semifinal. Winnemucca and Battle Mountain play in the other semifinal, with the winners meeting for the league title.[[In-content Ad]]
