McDermitt JV girls basketball team knocks off Owyhee

Lady Bulldogs are 5-2 on the season

MCDERMITT -Just like its varsity counterparts, the McDermitt High School JV girls basketball team is having a successful season as well.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-2 on the season with a 58-25 win over Owyhee on Saturday afternoon in McDermitt.

McDermitt raced out to a 16-6 lead in the first quarter and cruised to the victory from there. The Lady Bulldogs held the Braves to two points in the second quarter to lead 25-8 at halftime and used a 23-4 run in the third quarter to put the contest out of reach.

Morissa Britt paced McDermitt with 12 points, Estefania Ruelas and Dacey Horn added 11 points each and Samantha Crutcher joined them in double figures with 10. Adrie Smart scored six points and Shyan Vigil and Megan Sam had four points each.

McDermitt travels to Eureka today for a 3 p.m. tip with the Vandals.

The Lady Bulldogs return to their home floor on Friday, Jan. 30, to play Wells at 3 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 31, to face Jackpot, beginning at 1 p.m..[[In-content Ad]]
