Maurice "Butch" Mariluch, 84, of Winnemucca, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, at Humboldt General Hospital. He was born on Dec. 17, 1927, in Elko to Jean Pierre and Madeleine Mariluch. He was born and raised in Elko and moved to Winnemucca in 1951 where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Maurice joined the Army in 1946. He worked for over 40 years for the City of Winnemucca and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Maurice loved hunting, fishing and gardening.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Frances Mariluch, his children Adriene Smith of Winnemucca, and Anita Hasart of Bend, Ore.; grandchildren Sebastian Smith, Amaya Smith, Madeleine Hasart and Brandon Hasart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Pierre and Madeleine Mariluch; his brothers Adrian and Peter Mariluch.
A Memorial Service is planned for June.
