Marilyn Casale, 65, of Orovada, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Reno surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 29, 1947, in Winnemucca to Albert and Louise Buhl. She was raised in Valmy and spent the rest of her time in Battle Mountain, Winnemucca and Orovada. She was married to Rocco Casale.

She loved and supported her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an animal lover and was devoted to her dogs. She was an avid crafter and loved to laugh. She amazed everyone by keeping her sense of humor to the very end. She also loved music and books.

She is survived by her husband Rocco; her children Jason (Tina) Edgar and Melissa Edgar of Battle Mountain; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Marilee Wholey and Rita Sherbondy of Winnemucca, Maureen Martin of Carson City, Betsy Lemous of Reno, Anita Curtis of Denver, Colo.; stepchildren, Torre Casale of Winnemucca, Amanda Rodriguez of Bakersfield, Calif., and Angela Griego of Paradise, Calif., and a son-in-law, Shawn West of Battle Mountain. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Louise Buhl and a brother, Herb Buhl.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday April 20, 2012, at the United Methodist Church of Winnemucca with Pastor Gayle Basten officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Albertson Funeral Home in Winnemucca. Those wishing to leave condolences to the family may do so at Marilyn's memorial site at albertsonfuneralhome.com. The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Valley Medical Center, Humboldt General Hospital, St. Mary's, Manor Care, and the many physicians and staff for their extraordinary care and compassion throughout her battle with cancer.
