WINNEMUCCA - Nicholas Henry Holley, 20, of Battle Mountain, was arrested Saturday evening after deputies and other law enforcement officials were notified that he fired a handgun at an individual on his front porch that morning, according to a Humboldt County Sheriff's Office news release. HCSO deputies received a report Saturday morning at 9:30 that a shooting had just occurred in the 4100 block of Cottonwood Lane. They were informed that after firing one round, Holley allegedly left the area at a high speed. The victim was not struck by the bullet, according to HCSO. The victim's residence was next door to another residence where a party had occurred during the previous evening. HCSO said that Holley had apparently been at the party. HCSO deputies and other law enforcement spent Saturday checking numerous locations throughout Winnemucca for Holley and eventually located him at a store on Grass Valley Road 7:30 p.m. He was taken into custody by law enforcement personnel and booked into the Humboldt County Detention Center. Bail was set at $127,627. The previous evening, around 11:50, the driver of an SUV, who is suspected to have attended the same party as Holley on Cottonwood Lane, fled from a HCSO sergeant after he attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation. After a short vehicle pursuit, the vehicle subsequently collided with the train crossing arm device at 2nd Street and Reinhart Dam Road. The driver was transported to Humboldt County General Hospital for treatment. Because of injuries that the driver sustained, he was not charged at the time. The HCSO is asking anyone who many have information about either incident to contact them at (775)623-6419.[[In-content Ad]]
