WINNEMUCCA - Jorge Cordova Velasquez, 62, was arrested on Aug. 23 on four counts of sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14, according to a Winnemucca Police Department news release.
Detective Matt Morgan received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred in Winnemucca two years earlier, according to the news release. The suspect was accused of sexually assaulting a female juvenile.
During the investigation, it was determined that there was probable cause to believe the suspect had sexually assaulted the victim on four occasions and an arrest warrant was issued, according to WPD.
Velasquez was located at his residence and booked into the Humboldt County Detention Center. Bail was set at $1 million.
