WINNEMUCCA - A Winnemucca man was arrested July 30 on suspicion of attempting to lure a minor over the Internet, according to a news release from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office.
Over the last several months, Humboldt County Sheriff's Detective Jim Loveless has been investigating a complaint concerning sexually explicit photos and language used online in an attempt to lure a 14-year-old female juvenile away from her home.
Det. Loveless was subsequently able to identify the suspect in this case as a Tony Dehart. Dehart, 30, was located at his place of employment and arrested by authorities, HCSO said.
Law enforcement officials believe that Dehart had contacted several other juveniles via Facebook in the Winnemucca and Humboldt County area. Dehart also used Facebook screen names of "Tony J. Douhat" and "Xtony J. Xdouhat.
Dehart's bail was set by Justice of the Peace Gene Wambolt at $250,000.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is reaching out to any members of the community who may have a juvenile at home, who is less than 16 years of age, and may have had contact via the Internet with Dehart to please call Det. Loveless at (775) 623-6419.
