Larry Gene Turnage, of Golconda, was arrested on May 21 after Humboldt County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Golconda for a report of shots fired in the area of Fourth Street around 10:45 p.m.
Individuals reported seeing a male adult armed with a handgun walking around the neighborhood, according to an HCSO news release. Turnage was located hiding in a pick-up truck after several hours. He was taken into custody.
An HCSO investigation revealed that Turnage had fired numerous rounds at a residence in Golconda and then was shot at by a homeowner who witnessed that original discharge, the news release said. No one was injured during the incident.
Turnage was arrested on six counts of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, possession of a firearm while under the influence, discharging a firearm into a structure/vehicle, discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle and ex-felon in possession of a firearm. His bail was set at $168,000.
