A 49-year-old man was arrested outside of the Battle Mountain post office Feb. 5 for open/gross lewdness, a second offense, according to the Lander County Sheriff's Office.
Undersheriff Robert Quick said the sheriff's office received a call of a suspicious person.
Deputies arrived at the post office to find Carl Walker Bellenir, who has no address, performing a sexual act upon himself. He was taken into custody around 5:45 p.m.
Bellenir's arraignment is tentatively scheduled for April 7 in the Argenta Justice Court.
Lander County District Attorney Angie Elquist said she has requested additional information from the sheriff's office and is waiting for that information before filing official charges.[[In-content Ad]]
