Lynn L. Hamm, 75, of Battle Mountain, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, in Reno, Nev.
She was born June 21, 1937, in Lansing, Mich., to Glenn R. and Helen M. Larke. Surviving are her daughter Keesha Averett, of Battle Mountain; one sister, Hannah Stuber, of Bolingbrook, Ill.; one brother, Richard G. Larke, of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandsons, Scott Lawson, of Battle Mountain, and Nick Lawson, of Bossier City, La.
Lynn graduated in 1959 from Michigan State University with a degree in Art. A 30-year resident of St. Petersburg, Fla, she worked for the Florida State Comptroller for 27 years, where she retired in 2003. She was an art teacher and librarian in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Peoria, Ill. She was an avid follower of Georgia O'Keefe art and loved museums. She attended Grace Presbyterian Church and enjoyed lunches at the George Schwinn Senior Center. Although Lynn hadn't resided in Battle Mountain long, she talked very fondly of the new friends that made her feel welcome here.
Reno Cremation was in charge of arrangements, and a memorial service will be held at the Grace Presbyterian church on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at 11:15 a.m. An additional memorial service will be held in Florida this spring.
