Lyle Lemaire recognized by school board for service

The Lander County School Board recognized Lyle Lemaire, of Lander Physical Therapy, for his donation of service and time to the Lander County students and staff.

Board President Anna Penola mentioned that Lemaire is a Battle Mountain native, having very deep roots here. His grandmother, Eleanor Lemaire was a

teacher in Battle Mountain and Eleanor Lemaire Elementary School was named for her.

Penola said his family owned Lemaire Store for many years and he added

that it was first opened in 1870. She said that Lemaire graduated from

Battle Mountain High School in 1982 and graduated from college with dual

degrees - one in accounting and one in physical therapy.

Penola went on to say that Lemaire supports young athletes and

students and donates many services. She added that he coached girls'

basketball and his office participated in the intern program thru the

high school and that he has also employed some of the interns that have

been through the program.

She said that Lyle takes great pride in his business and in our community and school district. She said it was awesome to have Lyle as part of our team and that with his efforts, we as a district and our students succeed and shine.

She offered congratulations and a commemorative pin to Lemaire for his service and contributions to the district.
