Lowry's Higbee sets state record for service points in a match

Lady Bucks' senior served 25 points in a row at Sparks

WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School senior Ere Higbee served her way in the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association record book last week.

Higbee served the first 25 points of the Lady Bucks' match with Sparks on Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Sparks. Lowry won that match 25-0, 25-10 and 25-8.

Higbee picked up seven more service points in the second and third sets, respectively, to finish with 32 on the night.

The old Division I-A record was 26 by Boulder City's Maren Ripplinger in 2001. Boulder City's Avalon Franz had 25 service points in a match last year and Boulder City's Lindsay Milicic had 23 against Palo Verde, Calif., in 2010.

The Division III record for service points in a match is held by Lake Mead's Amanda Wellman and Brittany Billey with 30 each. Wellman accomplished her feat in 2009 against Indian Springs and Billey notched her service points in 2003 against Warren-Walker.

The Division IV record is held by Alix Cirac of Virginia City with 25 against Mineral County in 2000.

The NIAA record book has no players listed in Division I.
