WINNEMUCCA - A portion of the Lowry High School track and field team made the trip west to Reno on Tuesday for the East/ West JV Invite at McQueen High School.
Sophomore Dani Ricker provided the best finish for the Buckaroos as she finished second in the long jump with a leap of 12 feet, 11 inches, to go with a third-place outing in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.4 seconds. She was fourth in the triple jump at 27.2.50 and a fifth in the high jump, as she cleared 4-4.
Freshman Jillian Albright was fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:46.4, Jasmine Marchard placed fifth in the 3,200 meters at 14.49.4 and Hayley Hall was sixth in the high jump as the freshman cleared 4-2. In addition, Hall was 11th in the 200 meters in a time of 30.0.
Alexis DeLaMora finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (19.4) and 10th in the 100-meter dash (13.8) and Courtney Boucher was ninth in the 3,200 meters (15:34.9). Hailey Webber was 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 15:34.9, Mikayla Wilke finished 10th in the 800 meters in a time of 3:29 and was 14th in the 100 meters at 14.2. Jeanette Soto placed 15th in the discus with a toss of 56-0 and the sophomore was 29th in the shot put at 19-1.
The 4x200 relay finished second with a time of 2:03, while the 4x100 and 4x800 relays were fifth with a time of 57.5 and 12:25.5, respectively.
The Lowry girls finished fifth as a team with 51 points, while Reed was first with 203.50 points. McQueen (166.5) and Spanish Springs (112.5) were second and third, respectively, and Elko was fourth with 53 points.
Hayden Jeppsen and Jared Carrica finished third in the 3,200 meters and discus, respectively, for the Buckaroo boys, Jeppsen timed in at 11:42.1, while Carrica threw the discus 117-10. In addition, Carrica, a freshman, placed 12th in the shot put with a throw of 40-.5.
In the 100 meter-dash, Alan Mayorga was 13th in a time of 12.1, Michael Wing was 19th at 12.2 and Blake Hillyer placed 49th with a time of 14.0.
Jeremiah Long-Pannell finished 38th in the 200 meters (27.9), while Hillyer (30.3) was 45th and Juan Castro (34.4) finished 46th. Castro also placed 25th in the 200 meters in a time of 1:21.4.
Andrew Madrid and Eric Barber were 24th and 26th in the 400 meters with times of 1:15.3 and 1:24.5, while Jacob Welty and Devin Morris were 12th and 18th in the 1,600 meters at 5:32.3 and 5:40.7, respectively. Ethan Andrews (5:42.4) and Ben Tyree (5:44.1) were 20th and 22nd in the 1,600 meters.
Felipe Moreno was 13th in the discus with a toss of 95-7, to go with a 14th-place finish in the shot put at 39-3. Chris Karchella (85-11) placed 18th in the discus and Steven Cholico (85-5) and Mikea Somers (82-1) were 19th and 26th in the discus, respectively.
The 4x800 relay team finished second with a time of 9:20.2 and the 4x100 relay (50.1) and the 4x200 relay (1:43.6) were fifth.
The Buckaroo boys were eighth as a team with 28 points, while Reed (254.83) and Reno (125) were first and second.
Lowry is at home this Saturday for its annual invitational at 9 a.m.
