WINNEMUCCA - It may be nearing the end of April, but if you look at the schedule it seems the Lowry High School swim team just started its season over this past Saturday in Truckee.
The Buckaroos had meets in the first two weeks of the year in March but had been off since competing in the Zephyr Aqua 5 in Reno. In its return to the pool Truckee defeated Lowry 156-75 on the boys side and 111-109 in the girls dual.
The Lady Bucks had three individual champions on the day, with senior Jillian Pfarr winning the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 29.16 seconds. Pfarr went on to add a third-place outing in the 100-yard freestyle at 1 minute, 9.53 seconds.

"That one was tough to take," said LHS head coach Mike Owens. "That decision changed the outcome of the dual. She took it a lot better than I did."
