For the second season in a row, the Lowry High School softball team saw its season end in heartbreaking fashion this past weekend at the Division I-A North Regional Championships at South Tahoe High School.
The Lady Bucks lost 5-3 to Churchill County in their first game on Friday, but came back to beat Dayton 5-2 later in the day to keep their season going.
Lowry built a 4-0 lead over Fernley in an elimination game on Saturday morning, but saw the Vaqueros score the final five runs to win 5-4. During the game, the Lady Bucks' Ere Higbee hit a home run, but was ruled out when the umpire said she did not touch first base.
Lowry finished the season at 21-10 and graduates half of its roster of 12.
