The Lowry High School junior varsity softball team opened its Ruby Mountain League slate of games this past weekend at home against Spring Creek.
The Lady Bucks overcame an early-inning deficit on Friday afternoon to beat the Spartans 13-8. Lowry did the same in the opener of a doubleheader on Saturday, pulling out a 15-10 victory. The Lady Bucks nearly pulled off a third comeback, but a rally in the final inning of Saturday's nightcap came up short in a 12-11 loss.
Lowry is off this week and returns to action on Friday, April 19, at 4 p.m. in Elko. The two rivals will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m.
