WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School junior varsity girls soccer team wrapped up its season on Friday, Nov. 1, with a 1-1 tie against Elko.
The match was scoreless until the 39th minute, when the Indians scored on a free kick from about 20 yards out after a Buckaroo foul near the box.
Lowry had an opportunity to score in the opening minutes of the match but a shot by Natalie Contreras went wide of the net.
The Lady Bucks netted the equalizing goal two minutes into the second half on a shot by Contreras from 15 yards out. That turned out to be the final goal of the day as both teams could not find the net despite having scoring chances.
Jasmine Marchand was stellar in the goal for the Lady Bucks once again, knocking back a number of Elko shots.
Lowry traveled to Spring Creek on Thursday, Oct. 31, and lost 5-0 to the Spartans. Spring Creek scored four times in the first 40 minutes of play and tacked on a single goal in the second half. Lowry finished the season at 4-8-2.
