The Lowry High School junior varsity baseball team closed out its home slate of games this season with a thrilling 17-16 victory over Fernley on a windy Saturday afternoon. The Buckaroos led the game 9-5 only see the Vaqueros come back and go in front 15-9. Lowry battled back and scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, with the winning run coming on a suicide squeeze with bases loaded. The Buckaroos easily won the opener 11-1 and are 11-13 overall and 8-7 in the Division I-A North. Lowry travels to Lovelock Tuesday to play Pershing County at 4 p.m. and finish the year on Friday and Saturday in Spring Creek at 3 p.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.
