Before the weather got nasty on Saturday, the Lowry High School junior varsity softball team held off Elko to beat the Indians 16-12 in game one of what was to be a doubleheader. The two rivals began the second game, but it was called off in the early innings due to rain. Lowry improved to 3-0 in the Division I-A North. The Buckaroos are one of the few teams not off this week because of spring break and travel to Dayton on Saturday for an 11 a.m. doubleheader.
