DAVE MUNK• Special to the Sun
Three Lowry High School students participated in Boise State University's music camp from June 3-7. The photo above shows (left to right) Harley Coney, who plays the clarinet and will be a senior in the fall, Shannon Munk, who plays the oboe and will be a junior, and recent graduate Joleen Dunlap, who plays both the base clarinet and the B-flat clarinet. The three had music lessons during the week, classes in music history and music theory, and plenty of rehearsal time for the recitals and concerts that are part of the week-long music camp. Dunlap was awarded the outstanding woodwind player of the camp this year. In the photo on the bottom, she is pictured between Dr. Leslie Moreau on the left and Marcellus Brown on the right. Moreau is the university's clarinet teacher and Brown is the camp coordinator and director of the university wind ensemble. Dunlap will be attending BSU in the fall on a music department scholarship and a marching band scholarship.
