WINNEMUCCA - On Tuesday, Nov. 20, Albert M. Lowry High School proudly inducted a total of 21 young men and women into its Torch Chapter of the National Honor Society. For those who are not familiar with the goal behind National Honor Society, it was established to recognize outstanding high school and middle-level students through what many feel is the nation's most premiere organization. The National Honor Society is more than just an honor roll; the National Honor Society only serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of not only scholarship, but also leadership, service and character as well. Throughout the night of the ceremony, the kids were not only honored with the usual call to the stage and some sort of certificate with their name on it, but they were also honored in the passionate speech given by the keynote speaker and community leader Sixth Judicial District Court Judge Michael Montero. The students not only received a speech from Judge Montero but from Lowry's principal Debbie Watts, Honor Society Adviser Matthew Felshaw, and each of the honor society officers as well. The young adults who accepted this great honor and were officially inducted were: Caleb Ahnefeld, Justin Albright, Beau Billingsley, Kevin Blanco, Donovan Brumm, Bridget Cervantes, Colin Doyle, Hayley Goldblatt, Jayci Hill, Sabrina Jensen, Emma Kracaw, Genalynn Lapira, Makkenna Lloyd, Meg Montero, BrycenProkasky, Ryan Rasmussen, Oscar Rodriguez, Joshua Rose, Thomas Schwartz Cecily Snow and Jacob Von Aspern. Overall, it was a great night in Lowry's Chapter of Honor Society, and these newly inducted young adults should feel a great sense of pride in this great accomplishment.[[In-content Ad]]
