The Lowry High School girls soccer team split its last two matches, both on the road.
The Lady Bucks came from behind last Saturday to beat Sparks 2-1, but lost to league-leading South Tahoe 3-0 on Tuesday night.
On Saturday, Sparks took a 1-0 lead in the third minute on a Marisela Avalos goal. The Railroaders held that lead to the halftime break and through much of the second half.
The Lady Bucks (3-5-2 Division I-A North, 4-6-3 overall) scored the equalizing goal in the 68th minute on a shot by Monique Rodriguez. Lowry was able to secure the win, scoring seven minutes later on a goal by freshman Bailey Sapien.
"It made it very intense to watch," said LHS coach Melanie Rasor. "We dominated, but were unable to score until the last few minutes to pull off the win. Many of the girls played different positions and it was fun to watch."
Lowry had the tough task of traveling to South Tahoe to take on the Vikings who are undefeated in league play. The only blemish to the South Tahoe record was a tie to Truckee.
The Vikings used goals from Ashlee Schouten, Ally King and Jordon Dion to secure the shutout victory.
"We played pretty well, especially the defense," Rasor said. "Jasmine (Marchand) played a great game with 14 saves."
Lowry is back on the road Saturday to play Fernley at 1 p.m. The Lady Bucks return to their home field on Tuesday to face Dayton at 4 p.m.
