WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School junior varsity girls soccer team made just its second appearance at home this season in a matchup with Spring Creek this past Thursday afternoon.
The Spartans used single goals in each half to pull out the 2-0 victory over the Lady Bucks. Spring Creek scored in the 25th minute off a corner kick and added the insurance goal in the 70th minute to secure the victory.
In her first start as goalkeeper, Jasmine Marchand had a number of nice saves on Spring Creek shots. The Lady Bucks had two shots on goal, one each from Natalie Contreras and Alexis Mendoza.
With just one day off, Lowry (2-4-1 overall) hit the road on Saturday and played Elko to a 3-3 tie.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, Lowry traveled to Fernley and picked up a 7-0 victory over the Vaqueros. In that match, Lindsay Pate and Contreras each scored two goals in leading the Lady Bucks to their second victory of the season.
Hannah Kienenberger, Brittany Partee and Mendoza each had one goal. Jaris Dunyon had four saves on the day.
The Lady Bucks are back in action today when they host Fernley at 2 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
