The Lowry High School cross country team took part in the Division I-A Northern Regional Championships at Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno.
The Lady Bucks finished seventh as a team with 203 points and the boys were eighth with 180.
However, Hayden Jeppsen qualified for the Buckaroo boys as an individual, placing 18th overall in a time of 18 minutes, 53 seconds. He was fourth of the five individuals that advanced to the state meet.
"It was good that we got Hayden in there," said LHS coach Kathy Norcutt. It wasn't a personal best, but he ran really hard to get in there. His goal at the start of the season was to make it to state. Watching times from other runners during the season, I thought he had a pretty good chance of making it. The day pretty much played out like I thought it would.

"Charice ran a personal best and Emily was right there with her," Norcutt said. "It was a good race for those two. Shannon had a really good race, one of her best of the year."
The Division I-A State Championships take place Saturday at Sunset Park in Las Vegas.
"We have never been there, so I don't know what type of course to expect," Norcutt said. "It is suppose to be hot down there, so we will see how it goes."[[In-content Ad]]
