As the calendar turns to the last week in October, high school postseason championships are in full swing in Nevada.
The girls golf and boys and girls tennis state championships have already been decided and now its time for cross country.
The schools in the Division I, I-A and II North will be in Reno on Friday afternoon to decide its teams to go the state meet. The Lowry girls along with the rest of the Division I-A North will race at 10:45 a.m. on the 3.1-mile Rancho San Rafael Park course. The Buckaroo boys will take to the course at 1:25 p.m.
Truckee, South Tahoe, Sparks, Fernley, Dayton, Churchill County, Elko and Spring Creek will also compete.
The top three teams from the Division I-A North and South championships qualify for the NIAA State Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8, in Las Vegas.
The top five individuals from non-qualifying state meet teams out of the Northern League championship and the top five individuals from non-qualifying state meet teams out of the Southern Region championship meet also advance to the Division I-A state championship meet.
