Lowry celebrates Winterfest

Lowry High School's 2014 Winterfest was filled with excitement, new activities and many unforgettable memories. This year, the Leadership class that organizes the whole week of activities wanted to explore their new options and venture away from the original Winterfest activities.

One of the new activities was a teacher painting, which at a first glance may have seemed weird. However, it was just the opposite. The teacher painting was a fundraiser for the Key Club at the High School. Students paid to buy squirt guns filled with paint, which they used to shoot the teacher of their choice. It was a fun, stress relieving fundraiser that was very successful.

Another successful fundraiser was organized by Honor Society, a date auction. This fundraiser allowed students to buy their classmates for the highest price. If won, the couple was given two free bowling tickets to use at their leisure. This fundraiser was new to Lowry, but turned out to be a huge hit!

The last new activity was a bon fire. This was put on with the help of the local police and fire departments. The cheerleaders and band pepped up the crowd and encouraged all students to attend the Winterfest basketball games. The bon fire was enjoyed by all and really got the crowd ready to go support the basketball players in their upcoming games against Elko.

All in all, Lowry High School's 2014 Winterfest was a huge success. With all the new activities that Leadership organized many memories were created that will last forever! Thanks to all the staff, students and Leadership class for their hard work in organizing the whole week. This Winterfest will never be forgotten![[In-content Ad]]
