The Buckaroos' 14 state wrestling championships are tied for most in Nevada history with Yerington. The 11 titles in boys golf are the most in Nevada by five. The Meadows, Elko and Reno are the next closest with six each.
The boys basketball team also won its 11th state championship this past spring, which is eighth in state history. Both the boys and girls cross country teams have each won nine state championships. The Lady Bucks are second only to Carson with 10. The Lowry boys have won the third most in state history, with North Tahoe (15) first and Reno (11) second.
The boys track and field team has won seven state championships, with those dating back to the Humboldt County days. Those seven championships are eighth all-time in Nevada. The girls basketball team is fifth all-time in Nevada with five championships, while the Lady Buckaroo golfers have won four titles, which is fourth most in Nevada history.
The Humboldt County football team has two championships to its credit, the last in 1965. Lowry has played in two state championship games in 1990 and 1992, losing both. The Lowry softball and volleyball teams each have one title.
Girls track and field, baseball, swimming and boys and girls soccer have not won state championships at Lowry/Humboldt County. Girls track and field and baseball have runner-up finishes to their credit.
McDermitt High School has nine state championships, including five in football, with the last in 1984. The boys track and field team has won two titles and the boys and girls basketball programs have won one state championship apiece.
