LOVELOCK - Employees of Lovelock's Paiute Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of Southwest Gas Corporation, have partnered with the Lovelock Community Food Bank. These generous donations from Southwest Gas employees will be used to benefit all ages in the community who have the need to use the food bank.

Chris Anderson and Gabe Legorburu presented the letter announcing the contributions at the food bank facility, which was provided to the organization by Pershing County businessman Jeff Kearns.

Although the food bank gets its food priced per pound reasonably from the Food Bank of northern Nevada, it also purchases meat from the local Safeway store to serve clients who come with vouchers, food bank officials said.

Food bank officials said they realize that all costs seem to be increasing, especially with the cost of fuels to move these goods. During these difficult times, some families must choose to heat their homes and buy medicines, over being able to buy food.

The Lovelock Community Food Bank sees a seasonal increase in usage demands during these peak times. It is during these periods that clients so appreciate the donations that keep the Lovelock Community Food Bank going.
