Local weather spotter training offered Jan. 7 through NWS

WINNEMUCCA - The National Weather Service in Elko will be providing a no prior registration and free two-hour Skywarn Spotter training session in Winnemucca from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 7.

The location will be in the conference room of the sheriff's office at 50 W. 5th St. in Winnemucca.

This training is for anyone interested in safety and learning to identify severe weather or someone that would like to become an official certified National Weather Service storm spotter.
