WINNEMUCCA - Glenda Haley got her violin students as well as a few adult violinists together for a concert at the Humboldt County Library on Dec. 23.
Haley said the group has no formal name but she called the performance "Christmas Violins."
Haley is a private music teacher in violin only. Her students have been with her between one and two years.
She stated that the idea for a group performance was suggested to her by her daughter. Haley's daughter, who lives in Alaska, told her mother that groups frequently gave concerts at the local library there. Haley decided she would give it a try as well. She stated that the recitals she has held at the library in the past often produced a packed house.
Haley said that the group has had their music for the last two months and came together three times to practice. All of the music they played was Christmas music and included "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "The First Noel" and "Angels We Have Heard on High."
Haley said they are hoping to return to the library again in May for another concert.
