Local pair arrested in drug-endangered children case

WINNEMUCCA - During the course of a drug-endangered children case being investigated by Detective Will Bourland of the Winnemucca Police Department, 32-year-old Carrie Strickler and 35-year-old Anthony Jimenez were arrested on Dec. 19.

Bourland had received information that led to obtaining a search warrant for Strickler's residence. During the course of obtaining that search warrant, both Strickler and Jimenez were located outside of Winner's Casino and were contacted on an unrelated matter by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office.

Jimenez was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. The WPD said Strickler gave consent to law enforcement to search her vehicle, which turned up suspected methamphetamine. Strickler was arrested and taken into custody.

Once the search of the vehicle was conducted, officers went to Strickler's residence and during the course of carrying out the search warrant, the WPD said approximately 5½ grams of suspected methamphetamine was recovered along with a small amount of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

Strickler's bail has been set at $240,627 and Jimenez's bail has been set at approximately $270.000.

This investigation was a cooperative effort between the Winnemucca Police Department, Nevada Division of Investigation, Nevada Highway Patrol, Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and the Division of Child and Family Services.
