Local man sustains injuries in roll-over accident

LOVELOCK - A local Rye Patch resident was injured in a single-vehicle roll-over accident Tuesday and rushed to Pershing General Hospital in Lovelock.

The accident happened about 8 a.m. on Old Victory Highway, west of the Rocky Canyon subdivision, according to Rye Patch Volunteer Fire Chief Harry Mosby.

For unknown reasons the vehicle ran off the side of the road and overturned, Mosby said.

RPVFD EMTs, Pershing County Sheriff's deputies and Lovelock ambulance were called out to the accident. The single occupant of the vehicle sustained unknown injuries, requiring him to be transported to Pershing General Hospital, officials said.

Mosby would not elaborate on the severity of the injuries or the name of the victim.

Pershing County Sheriff Rich Machado could not be reached by press time for further comment or for details about the accident.
