WINNEMUCCA - On Sunday, Dec. 22, Humboldt County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area of the 4000 Block of Placer Way on the report of possible shots being fired in the area.
Prior to deputies' arrival, they learned that the shots may have been fired by a suspect in a pick-up truck, according to a HCSO news release.
Deputy Kevin Malone spotted the truck heading northbound on Grass Valley Road and subsequently stopped the vehicle and made contact with the two occupants. The driver of the truck was identified as suspect Andrew Sevy, according to the HCSO.
Additional investigation by HCSO personnel revealed that Sevy had had words with another individual in the driveway of that person's residence. As the truck being driven by Sevy left the driveway, two shots were heard, HCSO said.
Humboldt County Sheriff's deputies obtained statements and gathered evidence, which resulted in the arrest of Sevy on suspicion of DUI, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while under the influence, discharging a firearm into a structure/vehicle, discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, aiming/discharging a firearm.
Sevy was booked into the Humboldt County Detention Center on bail of $65,127.
