Local man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder; battery with substantial bodily injury

WINNEMUCCA - Detectives with the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office received information on Nov. 15 concerning a possible violent altercation that occurred that previous Sunday evening near the Tycana Estates Subdivision south of Winnemucca.

Based upon detectives' follow-up investigation, a warrant was sought and subsequently issued by Union Township Justice Court for Quintin Boyles, 35, charged with one count attempt murder and one count battery with substantial bodily injury. Bail was set at $150,000 cash only.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, Boyles was located on Nov. 16 and placed under arrest on the warrant without incident. He was still in custody at the Humboldt County Detention Center as of Nov. 17.
