WINNEMUCCA - Local resident and businessman Ron Schrempp, injured last Friday, April 6, in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 near Imlay, could be released from Renown Medical Center in Reno and begin rehabilitation today, his wife said.
Linda Schrempp said Ron will need to recover from a fractured hip suffered in the accident. He also received a gash on the head, she said.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Schrempp was a passenger in a truck driven by his son, Jeff. The driver encountered an unexpected icy overpass on I-80 and lost control of the truck. It rotated into the median and overturned, coming to rest on its top.
Ron Schrempp was transported to Renown by Careflight.
