LOVELOCK - The Pershing County 4-H/FFA Livestock Judging was Saturday March 3, at the 4-H Building in Lovelock. Over 40 members, leaders, parents and friends participated from Churchill, Elko, Humboldt and Pershing counties.
The contestants judged classes of beef, sheep, swine and goats. Reasons were used as a tie breaker. Ribbons and various prizes were provided by the 4-H Livestock Clubs.

Closest responses for the four agricultural fun questions from "2008 Nevada Ag. Statistics" were: How many cattle in Pershing County (18,000) Jacob Burke and Bonnie Little; How many sheep in Pershing County? (7,000) Mary Tomera; How many pigs in Nevada? (3,500) Megan Renfroe; How many goats in Nevada? (3,350); pig closest weight guess Megan Renfroe.
Thanks to the judges: Colby Burke, Tom Klein, Steve Foster, Anthony Moura; Maureen Weishaupt took reasons from the Juniors. The animals were provided by Bake, Cerini, Malay, Plimpton and Moura. Amanda Burrows, Rick Barnes, Matt Barnes and Alex Peters served as group leaders. Ed Bake was time keeper. Rene Childs, Darlene Moura and Marianne Papa worked the score room. Concession stand was run by Albert Mulder.
