Lightning flickers south of Winnemucca on a recent evening. On Sunday, powerful winds knocked out power in Grass Valley and in other scattered locations around Winnemucca. This photo was taken on Grass Valley Road looking west. Afternoon heating has brought strong winds and thunderstorms rolling through the area almost daily.
