LOVELOCK - The Pershing County Library is embarking on a new program that officials are hoping will be well attended.
"Family Game Night" will start on April 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The program will take place every other Wednesday evening for as long as there is participation and funding, library staffer Pam Munk said.
Once a month there will be group games, such as bingo, with small prizes for the winners; the next game will feature board games that would be played among the family members.
"We would like to see family participation, not just children sent alone. Although we won't turn away single children," Munk said.
The library is hoping to encourage more people who don't normally go to the library to come in and see what is available.
"This is a great opportunity for family bonding, so bring the whole family," Munk said.
She added that the library has games for all age levels so that smaller children will be able to play their own games while the older members of the family engage in another game.
The program is sponsored by the Frontier Community Coalition as a fun way to have family time without alcohol.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. It is located at 1125 Central Ave. next to the Pershing County Courthouse.
