Allison Strekal, a graduate of Lowry High School, has been named president of business operations for the Reno Bighorns. The Bighorns are the NBA Development League affiliate for the Sacramento Kings.

She replaces Shayne Donohue, who resigned to explore other opportunities, according to a release.

Strekal was previously with the Bighorns for three seasons from 2010-13, serving in various positions, including account executive, media and community relations manager and director of marketing and communications.

Strekal graduated from the University of Nevada in May 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism.

"I am so excited for the opportunity to lead the Bighorns moving forward," said Strekal. "The Bighorns offer an amazing family-friendly product and I can't wait to get our message out to Reno and the surrounding areas."

Strekal helped bring the Bighorns to Winnemucca in 2012 for an exhibition game with the Idaho Stampede that filled the stands at Lowry High School. The event was used as a fundraiser for Lowry athletics. Reno made the return trip to Winnemucca last November, playing the Stampede again.

"The Bighorns family welcomes back Allison Strekal as its new president of business operations," said Reno Bighorns owner Herb Santos, Jr. "Allison has been with us for several seasons and has excelled at every position she has held.

"She is an incredible asset and I know that she will bring all her experience, dedication and love for the Bighorns to the table to help the organization grow and exceed all expectations."

Strekal left the organization before the season started last fall.

Strekal serves on the board of the American Advertising Federation's Reno Chapter as the public relations chair.[[In-content Ad]]
