WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School's Brandon Okuma, Jesse Studebaker, Calvin Connors and Tyler Brumm were named to the Ruby Mountain League first team, as selected by the league's six coaches.
The foursome helped Lowry to a 17-12 record overall and 7-5 mark in league play, as the Buckaroos advanced to the second round of the regional championships.
Elko's Shane Gilligan and Dalton Ridgway were named the Coach of the Year and Most Valuable Player.
Okuma was selected for his play in the mid infield at shortstop, Brumm at corner infield (first base), Connors (outfield) and Studebaker was chosen at pitcher.
The remainder of the first team included catcher Austen Plank (Spring Creek), mid infield JT Pete (Elko), corner infield Lane Newman (Spring Creek), outfield Zach Armstrong and Phillip Benavides (Elko), utility/DH Tommy Hedley (Elko) and pitchers Cody Kerns and Derek Ridgway (Elko).
The Buckaroos' Daniel Pollock (mid infield), Tanner Lecumberry (corner infield), Michal Arenas (outfield) and Aaron Nelson (pitcher) were selected to the second team.
The second team was rounded out by mid infield Chad Schumacher (Elko), outfield Blake Pruitt (Spring Creek), utility/DH Levi Bliss (Spring Creek) and pitchers Joe Bejarano and Jacob Conklin (Elko).
Lowry's Troy Hardy (corner infield) and Christian Dawson (utility/DH) were named to the honorable mention team.[[In-content Ad]]
