Leon Richard Mastin, 39, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away Dec. 12, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Leon was born June 4, 1975, in Stockton, Calif., to Dennis Dean Mastin and Virginia Jean Monroe Mastin. He grew up and attended schools in Winnemucca, Nev., and graduated from Lowry High School in Winnemucca. He also attended Idaho State University.
On Aug. 21, 1997, he married Erica C. Church in Tucson, Ariz. To this union were born two children, Corinna and Kelly. Leon and Erica made their home in Terre Haute, Ind., and Pocatello, Idaho, and Leon worked as a mechanical designer for the mining industry in Winnemucca.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Idaho Falls, the Maryland Community Church in Indiana, and the First Baptist Church in Pocatello. He enjoyed the pursuit of knowledge and Jesus' love.
Leon is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Erica Mastin of Idaho Falls, Iadho; father Dennis Dean Mastin of Winnemucca, Nev.; mother Virginia Jean Mastin of Winnemucca, Nev.; daughter Corinna Marie Nelson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter Kelly Elizabeth Mastin of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother John (Jennifer) Mastin of Winnemucca, Nev.; brother Ian Mastin of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, John (Ashley) Bone of Nampa, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kelly Mastin, grandparents, Dean and Dessie Mastin, grandfather, Richard Hill.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, in Winnemucca, Nev.
