LAS VEGAS - Open enrollment for a new Nevada charter school began May 1.
Leadership Academy of Nevada (LANV) offers a tuition-free, online education to students in grades 9-12, anywhere in Nevada.
According to a news release, LANV courses are designed to teach students how to think, not just what to think. The LANV team believes every student has unique leadership abilities, and wants to help students discover them. Caring mentors train students to think critically through Socratic dialogue, interactive discussions, and project-based learning.
Students will be immersed in cutting-edge technology to gain the skills necessary to be leaders in the 21st century. LANV offers courses such as Personal Leadership, College Leadership and Financial Leadership to give students the inspiration and practical skills necessary to demonstrate leadership throughout their young adult years.
Students using this same curriculum at other institutions achieve higher-than-average test scores.
LANV is an online/virtual public charter school serving grades 9-12. LANV's mission is to provide highly-motivated and self-directed students with a classical education so they can become principled leaders.
Founded by a group of Nevada educators, professionals, and homeschool parents, LANV's curriculum combines liberal arts courses, abundant training in technology and a persistent emphasis on leadership.
