BATTLE MOUNTAIN - According to a sheriff's office press release, on Nov. 14, Lander County Sheriff's Office deputies were involved in a shooting south of Battle Mountain with a resident of Lander County after responding to a domestic disturbance call.
One deputy was injured in the shooting, treated at Battle Mountain General Hospital and subsequently taken by Air Ambulance to a Reno-area hospital. A second deputy was placed on administrative leave with pay as a result of standard sheriff's office policy in such situations, according to the press release.
