Lander County School District screenings scheduled for August

Children turning 5 by Sept. 30 will need to be screened before they can enroll in school in Lander County. Screening dates are Aug. 11 - 14. If your child attended a pre-school in Battle Mountain, the school already has your contact information to set up an appointment. If not, please contact the school. Proof of birth and a current immunization record will be required at the time of the screening, so if you haven't ordered a birth certificate, please do so now. If you have questions or would like to set up an appointment, please contact the Eliza Pierce office at 635-2349.

Proof of immunization is required for all children entering school in Lander County. Immunizations must be up to date, or in progress at the time of enrollment. Students may not be placed on a class list until all documentation has been received. Updated immunization records must be submitted before school begins, if students receive additional immunizations over the summer.

All students requiring medication that will be dispensed by the school nurse must have an updated prescription and signed permission form for the 2014-2015 school year. This must be done annually even if the student was enrolled in Lander County during the previous school year. If you have questions regarding immunizations, new student screening, or medication, please contact the school nurse, Paula Green, RN at 635-2349.[[In-content Ad]]
