Lander County School Board recognizes residents for service to community

Each month the board's nominees will be honored with a pin that has a green gem and the year on it.

April 18 was the first ceremony. John Davis honored Leroy Neeley for his years of service driving school buses for the schools and the kids' extra activities.

Mark Lake honored Paul Tremayne and his dedication to the Battle Mountain High School sports programs.

Todd Thompson honored Barbara McIntosh for her 30 years of teaching. Susan Davis honored Anna Penola for sitting on subcommittees and participating in conferences.

Penola honored Toni Hawk for her years at the juvenile department. Doug Longchamps honored Krissi Tucker for her work with the Watch D.O.G.S. program.

Jan Morrison honored Debbie Bispo for all of her hard work at the Austin Schools.

May 16 was the second ceremony. John Davis honored Shannon Ramirez for all of her dedication and hard work at Battle Mountain Junior High School.

Lake honored Daun Bohall for his work as umpire and referee for schools and Battle Mountain. Thompson honored Scott Malone for his work with the buildings and trades program.

Susan Davis honored Gorka Coscarart for his 20 years of volunteering for Eliza Pierce Elementary School. Penola honored Kayla Mauldin for her years of service to Lander County.

Longchamps honored Lorrie Sparks for her enthusiasm and energy as principal of Battle Mountain Elementary Schools. Morrison honored Ron Gandolfo and all his dedication at the Austin Schools.
