BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Community leaders need your help as they plan for better high-speed Internet services across the county.
You are asked to simply test the speed of your current Internet service at your home and office. The free speed test is available through the Connect Nevada initiative.
1. Go to the Connect Nevada website, www.connectnv.org.
2. Scroll down and click on "Test your Speed" on the right side.
3. Click on the disclaimer to fill in the blanks and click on "Begin Test."
You are asked to limit your speed test to no more than twice from the same location and to complete the test between June 17 to June 30.
The results of the local speed tests will show county leaders where broadband improvements are needed to get the region connected.
