Lander County Committee Against Domestic Violence prepares for upcoming annual walk

Lander County Committee Against Domestic Violence challenged students at the Eleanor Lemaire Elementary School to design the T-shirts that will be worn at the upcoming Fun/Run/Walk being held on Oct. 11 beginning at 9 a.m. in Elquist Park. There were three winning students, first place went to Alene Martinez. His design will be used at the upcoming event and he won a brand new bicycle for his efforts; second place went to Tony Nichols and he won $50; and third place went to Desiree Nichols and she won $25. This will be the 9th Annual Fun/Run/Walk and every year the T-shirt is designed by a student. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month the LCCADV organization holds this event to encourage families, friends and co-workers to support the awareness and prevention of domestic violence for all ages. The event is for the whole family, including pets on leashes. Breakfast is served by the Down Under Club and all participants receive breakfast, a T-shirt and a goodie bag.
