The McDermitt High School volleyball team traveled to Elko last weekend for the Division IV Regional Championships.
The Lady Bulldogs entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed from the East Division at 6-6. McDermitt met up with Smith Valley, the top seed from the West Division in the first round on Friday, Nov. 7. Smith Valley, who went 16-0 in league play, knocked off McDermitt 25-11, 25-13 and 25-19.
Smith Valley went on two beat Owyhee in five sets in the semifinals and took on Virginia City in the championship match. The Muckers defeated Wells, the top seed in the East Division in the semifinals. Smith Valley went on to sweep Virginia City in the championship.
