With schools playing home and home series' this year, the start to the Division IV East volleyball season got is off to an early start.
McDermitt High School played host to Wells on Friday, Sept. 12, and grabbed the first set from the Leopards 26-24. Wells finished second in the league last year and is considered one the favorites in the Division IV East this year.
The Leopards came back to claim the second and third sets by identical scores of 25-16. The fourth set went back and forth, before Wells held on for the 25-22 win.
McDermitt stepped out of league play on Thursday at home against Jordan Valley, Ore., and results were not available at press time. The Lady Bulldogs are back home Saturday to face Carlin at 10 a.m. in a single match. The Railroaders are 1-0 in league play with a victory over Austin.[[In-content Ad]]
